Cookeville, TN, Jan 14, 2011 — Rotarians from the Cookeville Breakfast Rotary Club and leaders from the Tennessee Tech University (TTU) Saudi Students Club visited the office of TTU President Bob Bell to extend a personal invitation for him and his wife Gloria to be special guests at the January 29, 2011 International Night.
The second annual observance is organized by the Rotary club to raise money for international and humanitarian service work and to increase global understanding and promote a peaceful world. With that latter objective in mind the Rotarians select an honored country each year to feature at the event.
The 2010 International Night featured the country of India for the theme of food, displays, speakers and entertainment. For 2011 the Saudi Students Club at TTU, about 150 undergraduates, are acting as ambassadors for their country and have taken on the challenge of organizing decorations, displays, food selection and entertainment.
